The idyllic old wooden town of Naantali is situated right next to archipelago and offers a selection of cycling routes in a stunning scenery. Hop on the saddle and bike your way to the nearby Luonnonmaa island.
Here you can find a map and two different routes to take you around the island.

13 km / even terrain / 1–2 h
This route takes you to Haijainen area is only 13km long (return) so you can have plenty of stops to explore surrounding nature and forests. Haijainen nature paths are an opportunity to explore a little bit of the forest and enjoy the fresh archipelago air.
This route begins from Naantali old town. Bike along Rantakatu street and follow the shoreline until you come to Rakkaudenpolku pathway and start to go uphill to Kuparivuori rocks. Kuparivuori is a beautiful observarion point for the view and picnic. After Rakkaudenpolku the route takes you downhill and over the Ukkopekka Bridge. After crossing to the next island, take the first left turn in a junction Käkölä/Kukola.
Follow Käköläntie (1,5km) until you can take a left turn to Haijaistentie. After around 1,1km take a turn to left to Suutarintie where you will see an old school building. This is also the point where the hiking paths leave to Haijainen area.
Follow along the Haijaistentie street around 400m until there is a left turn to Kirstiläntie. After about 1,1km, on the left side there is a small parking area (with electric transformer) and this is another point to start hiking towards the highest point of Nikulanvuori (followi signs).
Follow along the Villantie road until you arrive to the camping site and swimming beach, there is an ice cream kiosk on location during summertime.
After camping site the road continues and after 600m the road name changes to Jaakkolantie road. After 1,8km the road name changes to Miekkulantie road. Follow that way for 600m and the name changes to Käköläntie road. After this you can follow Käköläntie road all the way back to Rymättyläntie and Ukko-Pekka Bridge.

When you arrive back to Rymättyläntie road/Käkölä-Kukola crossroad you can either return to Naantali old town or continue to left across the island (11,5 km return) and turn back from Särkkä island.
Right after turning left (when coming from Kukola/Käkölä) take the next turn to right to Luonnonmaantie road.
Follow this way until the bikign route takes you under a street. After that the road joing to Särkänsalmentie street.
Follow this way until you come to Kultaranta Resort’s Marina, boat docks on left side, there take a turn tp right and follow the way up to the main road (Rymättyläntie, number 189). Turn to left, go over the bridge and turn right to Särkkä island.
There is small kiosk open at summertime. The area is great for a stop or a picnic enjoying the island with rocks, forest and shores, and especially beautiful landscape.
Upon returning back to Naantali, follow the same route back. On the way back there is a possibility to explore Kultaranta Kuru nature paths. Just take a turn to right after the bridge when you turn left to Kalliotie street and follow this as long as you see signs for nature path.
You can also stop by the Kultaranta Resort’s club house. There you can have drinks/coffee or lunch, they are famous for their pizzas at Heineken House.
