The wood-burning sauna, hand carved timber walls and jovial atmosphere of the archipelago will lead you and your friends into the gentle world of traditional Finnish treatments and folk healing culture.
Kuppari-Hanna Sauna and traditional healing offers traditional cupping therapy, relaxing massages, bone setting and acupuncture in an intimate milieu by the Small Archipelago Trail. The cupping therapy meets the highest standards of hygiene, and like all folk healers, I value the ethical principles of human interaction. Every now and then I might surprise the guests with an oak or juniper bath broom.
You can book a shorter treatment or a half-day session for your group of 2–5 with refreshments, snacks and a soup lunch.
While the hand carved timber building with its sculptures is an art experience in itself, the facilities also host a gallery showcasing jewellery made of bones and antlers of local game animals and of tree roots. As you step in, it is impossible to miss the imposing wooden pyrography artworks with folklore imagery.
In 2016, Visit Finland awarded Kuppari-Hanna as one of the star products of FinRelax to represent Finnish folk healing culture and to promote profound cultural experiences of travellers.

Kuppari-Hanna’s health spa is accessible. Cars can be parked in front of the building near the entrance.
I will assist customers in a wheelchair or those with limited mobility to the sauna benches. The sauna can also be enjoyed in a wheelchair on the lower level.
Kuppari-Hanna uses wind electricity and has a modern dry toilet. In addition, the giant timbers of the building bind carbon dioxide and the building was ecologically built. All lighting is done with LEDs.
Our toiletries are from Frantsila Organic Herb Farm, and the sauna benches are protected with linen instead of disposable covers. All textiles are washed with ecological detergents.
Waste is sorted out, and above all prevented – without sacrificing hygiene.
