The inspiring and bright Atelier Gallery of the visual artist Kristiina Turtonen can be found in the middle of the pedestrian street in Naantali Old Town. The spectators are often drawn in by the sound of piano, as the artist both plays music and works in his studio, which is open year-round.
The large, detailed and meticulous pencil works with their bookshelves are what Kristiina Turtonen is best known for. The books are not real, available works, but fictional stories, a flow of thoughts and a statement of life. The idea behind her work is that even the smallest thing is worth a book.
Kristiina Turtonen has held numerous solo exhibitions and participated extensively in themed joint exhibitions both in Finland and abroad.
The theme and content of the changing exhibitions define the technique used, which provides the viewers with a diverse and touching art experience. Kristiina Turtonen graduated from the Turku Academy of Arts, where she also completed specialized studies in contemporary sculpture, and she is a member of the Finnish Painters’ Union.
You can also create your own art in the Atelier Gallery! The artist will organise art workshops, lovely art birthdays for adults and get-togethers for the art-minded through reservations.
Atelier Gallery Kristiina Turtonen is open year-round, and you can find the opening hours on the gallery website.
