Naantali Museum in the Old Town is a combination of two wooden buildings, which together create an interesting look at Naantali’s history. The history of Naantali’s “Armonlaakso” (the Valley of Grace), which was established in 1443 in connection with the Brigittine convent in Naantali, is intertwined with the convent, the spa history and its location next to Turku and the archipelago.
Naantali Museum is an interesting destination, and you should reserve 1–2 hours for the visit. Museum Shop Säsönki offers interesting literature and souvenirs to visitors.
The two buildings of Naantali Museum are called Humppi and Hiilola. Humppi houses an archaeological exhibit of the early days of Naantali as well as a miniature model of the Brigittine convent. Humppi also has changing theme exhibitions that portray the history of Naantali from different perspectives.
The Hiilola property takes its visitors back to the interiors of the 19th century, which reflect the small-town lives of the middle class. Hiilola also has a playground for the little ones. Behind the sheltered and lush gardens, you will find the Sau-Kallio house, which shows how craftsmen used to live. The harmonious museum area with its courtyards and rose gardens creates a charming environment to sense the atmosphere of the old days.
The Humppi building of Naantali Museum hosts a miniature exhibition titled “Life in the Naantali Convent”. It depicts a young woman who joined the convent and the solemn ordination of nuns in front of the main altar of the church, and it includes fragments of life inside the convent.
You can book guided tours to Naantali Museum via Visit Naantali. The herb garden of Hiilola is also part of the “Tour of Three Gardens” group trip. Visitors are also recommended to visit the Naantali convent church in the Old Town.

Naantalin Museum’s Humppi property (Mannerheiminkatu 21) is open all year-round on Wednesday 12.00–18.00.
During the winter season, only Humppi is open to the public, and therefore adults can visit the museum for the price of a children’s ticket (€ 3) and children free of charge.
Museum Shop Säsönki, located in Humppi, is also open year-round and does not require a museum entrance fee.
During the summer, the museum is open daily.

The Humppi building can be entered from the courtyard-side through a ramp. The street-side entrance is covered.
The exhibition space of Humppi is located on one floor.
The courtyard of Hiilola is accessible to all visitors. However, due to stairs and high thresholds, the building itself is not accessible.
Assistants/interpreters who are accompanying a guest can enter the museum free of charge.
