Tours of the Kultaranta Garden during the summer season

Tours of the Kultaranta Garden are a popular way to discover Finland’s number one garden! The beautiful garden, restored to its original appearance, is one of Naantali’s main attractions, delighting visitors with its flowers, fountains and pavilions year after year. A guided walk of about 1.5 km also takes you on a guided tour of the site’s presidential history.

The 100-year history of the garden is interesting, not to mention the history of the garden’s hosts and mothers at the Naantali summer residence. The impressive granite castle at Kultaranta was built a year before Finland’s ind ependence in 1916 as the summer home of merchant and agricultural adviser Alfred Kordelin. The 19-room granite castle, designed by architect Lars Sonck, was built in 1914. Today, the imposing granite castle on the shores of Naantali Bay is probably the most famous summer residence in Finland, as our presidents have used it as their summer residence since 1922. However, the tour of the garden does not include a visit to the buildings in the area.

A tour of the garden can be made accessible. Guide dogs are welcome, but pets are not allowed in the garden.

The duration of the tour is 1 h. The tour is in Finnish, and some of the tours are summarised in Swedish or English if necessary.
