Granite manor

Kultaranta’s impressive granite castle was designed by architect Lars Sonck as a summer villa for merchant and councilor Alfred Kordelin. Construction began in 1915 and was completed in 1916, one year before Finland gained independence. Kordelin only spent a few summers at Kultaranta before his death; afterwards, the estate eventually became property of the Finnish state. Kultaranta estate has been summer residence of Finnish presidents since 1922.

The granite manor is not open for public or part of the tour.
